About Ms. Martin

Ms. Martin teaches Graphic Arts courses in the CTE/Career and Technical Education Department. The courses include the introductory course in Graphic Arts, the subsequent Web Design course, and the full year Graphic Arts Production course for advanced students.      

Ms. Martin is a visual artist and designer who also has a background in Art Therapy. She holds an MA in Art Therapy from New York University, as well as a BA in Art and a BA in Psychology from Rutgers University. She takes a cross-disciplinary approach to artmaking including drawing, graphic design, digital art, illustration, animation, painting, photography, video, and web design.

 

Ms. Martin teaches a wide range of creative skills to students to help them prepare for and express themselves in today's complex technological world. During her graduate studies at NYU, Ms. Martin focused on the effects of multiple traumas in adolescence and how art therapy can provide immediate healing and stress relief. She has experience providing treatment to teens suffering from PTSD and other psychological disorders. She has received a Brundage Foundation Fellowship, a Vermont Studio Center Artist Residency, and her work has been purchased by Rutgers University.
